On behalf of our organization, St. Lucie Taxpayers Against Planned Parenthood Funding, our most heartfelt thanks to all of you who turned out for the picket last Thursday. It was a great success, despite the water sprinklers going on full blast during our picketing hour.
And many kudos to the 20+ speakers who prepared and delivered excellent speeches to the Children’s Services Council board members at their meeting. We have had many compliments from members of the board and those in the audience, as to the professional manner the information opposing Planned Parenthood funding was delivered.
At the end of the meeting Sean Boyle, the Children’s Services Council’s (CSC’s) Executive Director issued a statement that could defund Planned Parenthood. View the statement here. The CSC is looking for organizations who can provide alternatives to the Planned Parenthood programs. At the June CSC meeting this will be finalized and then formal requests will be received and assessed by the board. Please pray for this process during these next few months as we are facing a continuing battle.
As a result, we have postponed the planned picket on TD Bank this Friday. But we do plan to picket again next month at the CSC office complex on University on Thursday, June 9, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m – keeping up the pressure. If you are willing to speak at the 8:30 meeting, please comment on this article.
